  1. AI-Powered Hydroponics Robot

    AI-Powered Hydroponics Robot

AI-run hydroponic system aimed at effortless home food-growing. A cable-suspended robot scans every plant through a vision-language model into a live dashboard and a phone app.

Semester-long project built around the UN Zero Hunger goal: a self-running rig anyone could grow food on at home. I led and designed it and owned the AI, electronics, sensor integration, the robot, and the scan algorithm, with a student team on the physical structure. A VEX EXP brain drives a four-cable lift over USB serial; a Python FastAPI server (HTMX, Tailwind, SSE) feeds a live dashboard and phone app. SQLite with tiered photo retention, APScheduler for the autonomous loop, and an OpenCV pipeline into a VLM in LM Studio.

  2. House Points and Pip, the AI Costume Judge

House Points and Pip, the AI Costume Judge

Year-round house points for about 250 students and 34 staff, plus Pip, an AI judge that scores Theme Week costumes and credits the points to each house.

Replaced the 2025 Theme Week scoreboard with a system the school uses all year. Email-code sign-in, roles for teachers and student leaders, a reason and a name on every award, corrections that never erase history, and public standings with no login. Pip is a talking costume kiosk: it grades each photo against the day's theme on a four-step rubric, hands unclear cases to a human supervisor, and never sends nicknames to the AI provider. The finale added a multilingual audience vote and a live projector screen.

  3. Open World 2026 Light and Projector Show

Open World 2026 Light and Projector Show

Solo end-to-end show production. DMX lighting cues, projection-mapped visuals, custom ESP32-based DMX controllers, all synced to a music timeline.

Programmed DMX cues in xLights and projection visuals in MadMapper. Routed DMX, HDMI, and audio across multiple devices into a single coordinated pipeline. Built custom ESP32 with MAX485 controllers to extend the rig past budget-limited gear. Roughly a month of iteration on hardware, cue programming, and rehearsals.

  4. Autonomous Ramen Vending Machine

    Autonomous Ramen Vending Machine

Semester-long collaborative build. ESP32 with Pico W control, reverse-engineered smart boiler and VEX V5 motors, web UI.

Owned all software and electronic system design (embedded firmware, circuit prototyping, system integration) while my teammate led mechanical design and fabrication. Reverse-engineered a closed-off commercial smart water boiler (for safety reasons) and repurposed VEX V5 hardware (for budget reasons) to interface with ESP32-based control logic. Iterated through woodworking and 3D-printed structure, custom-soldered circuits, and a web UI for user interaction.

  5. Theme Week Live Leaderboard Platform

    Theme Week Live Leaderboard Platform

Real-time leaderboard and announcement system for the school-wide Theme Week event. Built solo in under two weeks, virtually free to operate.

Public site shows live house point totals, rankings, and announcements across phones, laptops, and large campus display screens. Secure role-restricted admin interface lets teachers and student leaders input points and publish announcements in real time. Vercel for deployment. Firebase for auth, database, and real-time sync.

  6. Open World 2026 Payment and RSVP Portal

Open World 2026 Payment and RSVP Portal

Solo end-to-end RSVP, QR-based payment processing, and on-site check-in for the school's flagship event. Built in under two weeks, runs virtually free.

Vanilla HTML and JavaScript frontend with a lightweight backend. Single source of truth drove RSVP, payment, and check-in flows. Organizers verified payments and scanned QR codes at the door for real-time check-in. Successfully deployed for the live event.

  7. School Expo Rain Detector

    School Expo Rain Detector

Grade 8 expo project. Arduino-based rain detection, alerting, logging, and wireless data transmission.

Led the technical side: resistive rain sensor module, local alerts via buzzer and indicator light, on-device display, time-series logging, and wireless transmission for remote monitoring. Owned electronics and firmware end-to-end. The foundational hardware and software project that set up everything that came after.

  8. Self-Funded Custom PC Build

    Self-Funded Custom PC Build

Top-spec workstation for video editing, 3D, and gaming. Intel i9-13900KF and NVIDIA RTX 4090. Hand-picked, assembled, and tuned. Fully funded from REK.dev revenue.

First-ever PC build. Researched every component, assembled, cable-managed, then tuned at the BIOS level. CPU and memory overclocking, GPU undervolt, thermal validation under sustained editing and gaming workloads. Funded entirely from the editing business.

Independent written argument analysing how restorative nostalgia (a longing for an idealised past) shapes contemporary U.S. political rhetoric and policy framing.

  2. Cheaper Snacks in School

Research project arguing for more affordable snack options on campus, including pricing analysis, vendor research, and a final presentation video.

  3. Blockchain and Cryptocurrency: Risks and Opportunities

Visual media04

  • Grand Opener Video, D-PREP Open World 2026

Major step up from the prior year. A real-life to video transition: students live recording and performing the opening number, a cover of "Fallin'" that I produced with students singing it, to catch the audience off guard, followed by a 3D animation from outside the universe down to earth, into a drone shot flying to the school, where I am on the roof to welcome everyone. Fully edited, written, and shot by me, with my teacher Mr. Gareth helping with the welcome shot.

  • Welcome Back 2025, First School Day Leadership Video

As Student Body President for the 2025-26 school year, I made a leadership video to showcase the different councils students could join, encouraging signups and participation. Fully written and edited by me.

  • Genetics Before Mendel, AP Biology Video Project

AP Biology video essay using visual storytelling to walk through genetics before Mendel. Fully edited, written, and (semi) voiced over by me. First time experimenting with AI voice models that I locally trained to mimic my voice and voice the entire video.

English language project on Netflix, its upcomings, and its eventual downfall. Highlights my video-essay abilities in content writing and editing.

Internship05

Kistler Instruments

Worked with Kistler Instruments Thailand to learn about the mechanical engineering behind industry measurement systems and sensors. The team walked me through the products Kistler sells to other manufacturers and showed how sensors play a major role in manufacturing, particularly on the automotive side.

During that time, Kistler had a showcase at a large manufacturing expo. I worked alongside the specialists on the sales floor, learning how to explain, demonstrate, and sell the products to industry visitors, and saw firsthand how the sales and engineering sides of the business work together.

How would you describe a good leader?

A good leader is someone who isn't afraid to take initiative and turn ideas into reality. They lead by example, showing that responsibility and service are important to making a real and impactful difference.

What change do you want to create?

I want to help create an environment where students would stop waiting for instructions to make a change and start taking actual ownership of their community. I hope to leave a legacy where student-led impact is the norm, and not the exception.
